IVE SEEN FILMS International Film Festival
Founded in 2007 by Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, The Hitcher, Ladyhawke, The Legend of the Holy Drinker, Sin City, Batman Begins, etc.), the Festival aims to promote on a world-wide basis and through the internet streaming medium, the works of filmmakers desiring powerful exposure and visibility to their films.
An important part of this International Short Film Festival is the online Tiscali Short Film Award (TSFA), hosted by the internet provider Tiscali.it in cooperation with Cortoweb.it. In connection with the TSFA, Tiscali and Cortoweb also offer film authors, as an additional visibility opportunity, the possibility to have their works aired on the Tiscali IPTV media channel or streamed freely in the Tiscali Video portal.
In addition, by linking this event to the successful initiative of the Rutger Hauer Film Factory (which is transmitting a legacy of enormous film knowledge passed on by Rutger Hauer and his peers to ambitious and talented film professionals ), this new-concept platform creates a new opportunity for film professionals and offers the largest possible artistic choice to audiences all over the world.
By merging these three important realities together, IVE SEEN FILMS 2008 is creating an innovative way of linking the new millenium medium to the firmly established cultural film festival tradition, with Rutger Hauer at the helm, personally awarding the Festival winners.
IVE SEEN FILMS 2008 provides the authors with a longer than usual exposure to their works by streaming them on internet as part of the Tiscali Short Film Award event. An international audience will vote on them, selecting the valuable ones for the Festival Competition. A jury of experts will judge them and bestow awards to the best ones in their respective categories.
IVE SEEN FILMS 2008 Award Evening will take place in Milan (Italy) in a huge and modern multiplex theater venue, in a 400-seat screening room with extremely comfortable and large tiers of seats, with a 20-meter (66 ft.) wide screen and with a state-of-the-art technical set-up that includes an International THX® Certified system.
