I'VE SEEN FILMS is proud to announce that the Festival is moving into its core phase with the live Event that will be taking place from September 22 to 26 in Milan. The internet contest has just ended with staggeringly successful results far exceeding any anticipated expectations. The 132 online competing works have received a staggering number of more than 250,000 views.
Ive Seen Films will officially open on September 22, 2008 at 15:30 and will be preceded by a Press Conference taking place at 11:30 at Barone di Sassj Grand Hotel located in Sesto San Giovanni, Milano.
I'VE SEEN FILMS International Short Film Festival was founded in 2007 by Rutger Hauer with the goal of independently promoting, on a world-wide basis and also through the internet streaming medium, the works of filmmakers desiring powerful exposure and visibility to their films. This first edition has already received an extraordinary response from film authors from all over the world, resulting in approximately 1,500 short films sent from 50 different countries.
Tickets for the Festival's Award Evening and the Special Events, all followed by Q&A sessions with the audience, hosted by Mr. Hauer and the Festivals Guests, are on sale on the Skyline Multiplex website (www.skylinemultiplex.it ). Ticket sale proceeds go to the unending fight against the AIDS disease.
Richard Gere, Paul Verhoeven, Ridley Scott, Robert Rodriguez and Maestro Ludovico Einaudi are among the valued members of Ive Seen Films International Jury.
The Gala Award Evening will be hosted by the producer, director and writer Bill Bristow, who is also a member of the International Jury.
The vocal Trio, The Blue Dolls, formed by Erika Celesti, Federica Pallante and Viviana Dragani, will be among the Festival Guests and, in addition to joining Mr Bristow in conducting the evening, they will also present their Handful of Keys song that also participated in the Festivals internet contest.
Mr Enzo Iacchetti will be one of the Festivals Award Evening Guests with his Crazy for You short film that is also in the Festival competition. Crazy for You is his directorial debut.
Some of the Special Events include screenings of the sci-fi all-time cult ''Blade Runner - The Final Cut'', ''Sin City'' and ''Confessions of a Dangerous Mind''. In addition, with an exclusive one-time authorization by Warner Bros and the Blade Runner Partnership, a theater premiere of the critically acclaimed documentary Dangerous Days: Making Blade Runner will be presented. The program also includes a special screening of Zeitgeist attended by its author, Peter Joseph. All Special Events will be followed by live Q&A sessions afterward between the Festival Artists and the audience.
Also, a Special Event will be dedicated to Tibet and Buddhism, with four highly praised films, courtesy of the International Buddhist Film Festival, as well as a documentary, Buddhas Medicine, that will be screened as a worldwide premiere on September 22. This Special Event will be attended by representatives of the Tibet Culture House.
The Festival screenings will be the ultimate experience for movie-goers since they will be taking place in large screening rooms with extremely comfortable tiers of seats, with a 20-meter (66 ft.) wide screen and with a state-of-the-art technical set-up that includes an International THX® Certified system.
I'VE SEEN FILMS 2008 is creating an innovative way of linking the new millennium medium to the firmly established cultural film festival tradition, with Rutger Hauer at the helm, personally awarding the Festival winners.
