BIG BANG FILM FESTIVAL BRINGS BRILLIANT SELECTION OF FILMS TO PHILADELPHIA OCTOBER 17 THROUGH 21

Philadelphia, PA -- We are pleased to announce the Big Bang Film Festival (BBFF) which will be a celebration of some of the most exciting and inventive films in Action, Adventure, Suspense and Asian Action Cinema. BBFF will showcase amazing films, some classics, some classics in the making.

BBFF is dedicated to providing a variety of quality films: independents, features, documentaries, foreign films, shorts, and animation. We invite audiences of all ages and cinematic tastes to join us for the adventure! Philadelphia is an amazing place for film; every neighborhood is a treasure trove of sights, sounds and history. In the last 10 years, more than 80 films have been made in Philadelphia including Lady in the Water,
Charlotte's Web and The Woodsman. The list is growing quickly. The BBFF is a perfect fit for this action packed, filmmaking city.

The BBFF is happening as the result of the support of our filmmakers, audience members and generous sponsors. We are searching for fresh, bold voices in new American and International cinema and adventurous movie goers to share enjoy them. Film selections are nearly complete, organizers are now in the process of confirming schedules and locations, updates will be available soon.

Reggie Garrison is a Philadelphia native who loves Action Movies. Growing up in West Philadelphia on a regular diet of Black Belt Theater and the Kung Fu Double Feature, Reggie has long been a fan of the movies that leave you hanging off the edge of your seat, and the people who make those movies. Reggie graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Marketing from the Wharton School of Finance.

He works as an IT Specialist at University of Pennsylvania and manages a successful real estate career in the Philadelphia area as an agent with Century 21. With many years of experience in project planning and information technology, he brings a wealth of dynamic personal and professional tools to this exciting project. And it's that sense of excitement and dynamism that Reggie plans to bring to Philadelphia with the Big Bang Film Festival.

Bill Horton has a decade long history with film, video, and the performing arts in Philadelphia. Bill is currently the lead Technician/Projectionist for The Philadelphia Film Festival, The Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, The Film Project at the Harold Prince Music Theater and The Turks and Caicos Film Festival. He has also worked for the Israeli Film Festival, Jewish Film Festival and Geographical Society of Philadelphia. Mr. Horton is also the co-founder of the Terror Film Festival.

Mr. Horton has worked in just about every 35mm venue in the city, he has also been in the Projectionist Union for over 20 years (I.A.T.S.E). Mr. Horton is an audio visual technician at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, and has also been working on independent films for many years. Bill is the personal projectionist to Director M. Night Shyamalan, and is credited on two major motion pictures, "The Village," and "Lady in the Water."

And Bill's technical and videography expertise have been seen throughout the Philadelphia Live Arts / Fringe Festivals for many years. Bill's current projects include the ghost-hunting documentary "Will You Believe" and runs an Indie filmmakers web site for Philadelphians www.PFVM.com

Florence Mickens brings years of experience in special event planning and administration. She has worked with some of the area's biggest names in arts and education including the Philadelphia Orchestra, Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania. Her event planning experience runs the gamut from weddings to theme parties to professional workshops. Florence loves good film and a good fun, with her help, BBFF will provide plenty of both.
